Imphal, January 05 2008: PARTICIPANTS ON the 27th relay-hunger strike organized by the Sharmila Kan Lup demanding repeal of AFSPA and save Sharmila at Porompat PDA complex has lamented that the imposition of the Act has compelled the people of the state to live with restricted freedom.

Today, around 100 women volunteers of Ishikha Chanura Marup, , Yumnam Khunou Women Empowerment Association, Ishingthembi Chingmi-Tammi Women Society and Sinam Nupi Yaipha Lup staged the relay-hunger strike extending support to the cause of the Sharmila Kan Lup.

Speaking to the media persons, the secretary of the body Kharibam Naobi said since the imposition of the AFSPA in the state, people could not live in free.

She said, "We are living without the meaning of what is life".

She also on behalf of the Ishikha Chanura Lup expressed that they would extend full co-operation to any kind of stir launching demanding repeal of AFSPA.

On the occasion, news editor, Yakairol, Yendrembam Mangi and associate editor, Poknapham, Bijoy Kanchintabam talked on the account of the AFSPA.
